Mokau Half Marathon

Posted on 07 April 2013 - 1:41 PM

Yesterday Mokau hosted over 200 runners for the Mokau Half Marathon. The day started with showers for the farmers and quickly cleared for a great sunny day at the beach. The Mokau community did a great job supporting the event and many thanks to Jenny and our parents for helping with the sausage sizzle and set up. Mokau School was well represented with 8 of our students competing and Ben Hutchinson running the 10km. It was great to see our students giving it a go and I was very impressed with them all. I spoke to many competitors who all enjoyed the day and commented on the beautiful setting along our beach.

Lisa and the organisers were thrilled with the event and are keen to make the Mokau Half Marathon an annual event.

Congratulations to all those who competed and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
